Bidri 01
Finding Inspiration from traditional crafts of India
Bidriware is a metal handicraft from Bidar. The term "bidriware" originates from the township of Bidar, which is still the chief center for the manufacture of unique metalware. Due to its striking inlay artwork, bidriware is an important export handicraft of India and is prized as a symbol of wealth. The metal used is a blackened alloy of zinc and copper inlaid with thin sheets of pure silver. Traditionally, various flowers, leaves (vine creepers), geometric designs, human figures, stylized poppy plants with flowers, etc. are commonly found on the items. Demand for the patterns of Persian roses and passages from the Quran in Arabic script are also in great demand in the West.
Story
Looking for a better alternative for artisans to stand the changing and increasing market, I came up with the idea that why not incorporate Bidri with watchmaking,

Watchmaking is one of the most prominent parts of the luxury market, especially in mechanical watches as they have a whole different appeal to attract consumers, and is growing day by day too.
And the plus point for artisans is that they can use proper industrial machines for manufacturing, for example, proper chisel, buffing, casting tools, etc, and will have great industrial exposure all along,
This way we can also keep the craft intact, with a longer future and assurance for artisans too, also as far as raw materials are concerned for example the soil of bidar, and its oxidizing effect, if possible we can replace the alLoy with different metals and oxidizing them in facilities t achieve a black matte finish.
