A form exploration exercise where we derived a form using metaphors as initial inspiration.
Story time
Finding Metaphor
We were asked to form either a story or a poem, expressing our dream scenario related to any vehicle, and finding major emotions and decoding them in terms of metaphors which can be used to derive inspiration for design process.
The Poem
Tearing through the blistering gale, of a beautiful purple twilight,
glimpsing through the Fuji pass, heading towards the lake,
It was a perfect evening, we were at the shore,
sitting there, watching, The Fuji, on a starry night, near the lagoon,
Everything i could ever asked for, All stars aligned,
Just me, and
my Miata.
The Metaphors
Non-Chalant and Calm
Form Inspiration
Now as per the metaphors we had to relate them to some animal, bird, insects, or maybe some mythical creature, which expresses the same emotions and characteristics, of our metaphors as well as the poem.
And later that'll be used to derive form inspiration for design process
The Great Horned Owl
Great horned owl was the perfect example which can be related to the given metaphors and emotions, as it gives that calm non-chalant looks as well as is full of surprises in terms of flying pattern, and zero noise gliding.
